He flies so high up in the sky
Out of reach of human eye
And the only time that he touched the ground

누군가가 이 세상에 내려보낸 한 마리의 작고 귀여운 새
그 작은 새는 이 세상으로 내려와
거친 바람 속에서 살았습니다.
바람 속에서 태어나 바람 속에 잠이 드는
이 작은 새는 누군가가 이 세상으로 보낸거지요.
그 새는 가볍고 연약하지만
하늘색의 푸른 깃을 가지고 있답니다.
너무 가냘프고 우아하여 햇살이 스며들 정도였지요.
바람 속에서 살고 있는 이 작은 새는
누군가가 세상으로 내려보낸 작은 새였습니다.
그 작은 새는 인간들의 눈으로 볼 수 없는
하늘 높은 곳에서만 날아다니지요.
그 작은 새는 꼭 한 번
이 세상에 내려오는데 그 때는 이 작은 새가
죽음이 다가왔음을 알리는 때입니다.
작은 새는 죽을 때만 이 세상에 내려온답니다.
